25 years of Staple

Here’s to 25 years of Staple.

Founded by jeffstaple in 1997, Staple Pigeon has been a pioneer in the streetwear world for over 2 decades. What started off as just a few hand printed t-shirts by Jeff has grown into a global sensation. Over the past few years the Pigeon logo, that so aptly captures the gritty energetic vibe of NYC, has become a sort of calling card to urban city dwellers and their hustling spirit.

In the last quarter of a century, Staple has collaborated with multiple brands across the board. Some of the recent ones include TUMI, Coca Cola, Crocs, Puma, Batman and more. But the one collaboration that went down in history is their collaboration with Nike back in 2005, when they were approached to design a pair of Nike Dunks to represent NYC. And that’s how the “Pigeon Dunks” came to be. Yes, these are the same kicks that cause the first ever sneaker drop riot.

However, the one thing in common among all these drops and collabs is that at the center of it all, lies a focus on doing things for the community. In the words of jeffstaple “without community, all you have is a commodity”. Their tag line #FlockWithUs accurately conveys that message.

The latest collection of Staple Pigeon on Capsul is as fresh as it can get. This drop features a mix of streetwear staples  and some elevated pieces as well, like basketball inspired jerseys and shorts, bright colours, t- shirts in subtle shades, denims, caps and sweatshorts, printed swim shorts and more. One of the standout pieces in this drop is the Staple Triboro Logo Jacket, a nylon bomber jacket featuring a massive twill applique logo. The Staple Kingsbridge T-shirt and shorts come in a jade colour with a washed finish and feature graphics and embroidered text. It makes for a great co-ord set or can be rocked individually.

All these and more are waiting to be explored. Head over to www.shopcapsul.com to browse the entire curation from the latest Staple Pigeon drop.
