They say imitation is the best form of flattery and that there is inspiration all around…which makes for great lawsuits!

Market recently dropped a collection that was a reference to what feels like a "Superman vs. Batman" level showdown in streetwear , involving a  showering Primate and one of the biggest names in sportswear, whose kicks are cool AF (1). We're just going to leave it at that…

The fashion world is filled with lawsuits-scandalous, bizarre, petty, ironic.. you name it. Here are some that caught our attention.

ADIDAS VS THOM BROWNE:

One of the more recent lawsuits in the fashion scene, one would say adidas thought Thom Browne "crossed the line" with the use of a print very similar to the sports giant's iconic three stripes logo.

We call this "Behind Enemy Lines"

H&M VS. FOREVER 21:

There was a copied bag design involved. " Beach Please". Talk about pot calling the kettle black.

We call this "Fast Fashion and Furious"

LOUIS VUITTON VS. SUPREME:

Talk about things coming full circle. From being sued to an official collaboration that was one of the hottest hype drops of the last decade!

We call this "A Cinderella Story."

HERMES VS. METABIRKIN:

Words like Non Fungible Tokens, blockchains, digital asset were involved. Not a single physical bag in sight.

We call this "The Matrix".

CAR FRESHNER CORP. VS. BALENCIAGA:

The real question on everyone's mind is " Who knew the little tree car air freshener was from a brand whose name is Car Freshener Corp?" And next question "Is it genius or just lazy?"
